Day 1 in America: First Impressions of a New Life is a heartfelt Youtube series dedicated to preserving the memories of that first day. While the immigrant experience may share a lot of common ground, the unexpected details are what make each story uniquely compelling. No matter where you are from, I hope the similarities foster a sense of unity and belonging—while also celebrating the beautifully distinct moments that define each person’s first impression of America.
May we all recognize ourselves, our culture, our friends, and our families in the tiny details of a stranger’s journey. Through their stories, we are reminded that America isn’t just a place—it’s a mosaic of first days, each one adding a new chapter to its ever-evolving narrative.
I see you!
I love you.
I’m glad you’re here.
